The objective is efficiently handling one pallet or two. Efficient handling means quickly lifting two pallets from a rack, a stack or the floor; moving the two loads together to form a compact dual load for transport into a trailer and then spreading the two loads until they are snug against the outer walls of the trailer.

The features built into each Long Reach LDS model promote efficient pallet handling:

		In the single pallet configuration, the forks move together over a wide fork spread range much like a fork positioner. This allows quick entry into a wide variety of pallets.
		In the dual pallet configuration, each set of forks is automatically set at a standard fork spread for the appropriate pallet size. With the lift truck centered on the two pallets to be handled, the driver need only observe the entry of the outer left-hand fork. With that fork properly placed, the other three forks enter the pallets perfectly.
		Pallets do not need to be butted together for efficient handling. The wide pallet position range means quick and smooth entry into pallets positioned as much as 20" apart!
		Pallet travel capability allows the operator to bring the two loads snugly together for safe transport. Then, pallet travel is again used to place each load against the outer walls of a trailer.
		The maximum out-to-out positioning capability of each model is specifically designed for the handling characteristics of each pallet size. The objective of efficient placement of loads against van walls is achieved.

The "no-lube" polymer wear strips are replaceable in minutes without removing the forks from the body. All hoses, valves and fittings can be serviced from the front of the truck. A bolt-on cover plate is easily removed for servicing of cylinders and allows easy access to pressure test ports and flow control valves. The LDS also features easily replaceable bolt-on forks.
